It gets dark early and many of us suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder since we aren’t getting enough Vitamin D from the sun to nourish ourselves. There are times when we do feel down and it is so easy then to spiral into the comfort of eating, hibernating and not making as much effort as we would do if the sun was shining.
I saw this video this morning and was so moved by it, that I felt that I should share it with my readers today. It is a true inspiration for what we are capable of achieving, when we put our minds to it.
Many times, we get into a state of learned helpnessness and so begin to believe that we cannot change our lives or our circumstances. This article is here to say, that actually, we have the choice and we can change and we can make a difference.
Marianne Williamson has written a brilliant poem, called “Our Greatest Fear“ that is often quoted by Nelson Mandela. An excerpt is below:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
